Brexit and Anxiety
Unless you have been hiding under a stone today, you will be aware that the UK has decided to leave the E.U. Whether you voted In or Leave, there is now a lot of uncertainty about what happens next. As human beings, the one thing that causes us the most anxiety is change and at the moment it feels like everything is changing and no one seems to have any answers. Here are a couple of tips to lesson your anxiety, whether it is around Brexit or anything else in your life.
- Find a way to unwind; fishing, gardening, a long walk with the dog, cooking, dancing, going out with friends, read on engrossing book, take a long warm bath, exercise.
- Think straight; anxiety is kept alive by negative thinking and worrying
- Practice mindfulness
- Talk to a Counsellor/Therapist
Anxiety affects all of us at some point, and a little bit is good for us, however if it is impacting on you or your life, you don’t have to work on it on your own; me and all the other Therapists out there will be happy to work with you and your anxiety.
