What happens in Therapy

This is a question I get asked a lot.  A lot of client’s believe or hope that we are there to “fix” them, that we have a magic wand that will make everything better, and there are times that I wish I had exactly that when I see some clients struggle.

So instead of a magic wand what do we offer?  We offer a safe place, somewhere for you to talk about yourself, your life, things that might be painful or confusing for you.  We offer you space to think about yourself and your concerns which you don’t often get elsewhere.  We will listen to you without judging you and help you to make the changes in your life that YOU would like to make.  We understand it is not always easy to talk about your feelings so we will be patient, we won’t force you to talk about something unless you are ready to do so and we will work with you to improve your well being.
